Itsy Bitsy Love
Just the other day, I was reading a post from a dear dear friend of mine and she mentioned in her latest post that she was that Itsy Bitsy Spider.
Sometimes, life would strike us many home-run balls — situations way beyond our control and all we can do is to watch that ball spinning into the sky and far…far…away from us — It is always good to have the spirit of a spider, the spirit that never stops its web spinning no matter how many times it had been damaged.
So, when Lovable Mom brought back these lovely orchids, they do reminded me of a spider (even though there are only 4 or 5 petals for each flower and, yes I am aware that spiders have eight legs) and the content of her post.
So, my friend and all the Itsy Bitsy Spiders out there….the follower lovely flowers, shared quotes and one of my favourite songs are our Itsy Bitsy Love for you all:
Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did.
~ Newt Gingrich
Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragements, and impossibilities:
It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.
~ Thomas Carlyle
Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other.
~ Walter Elliot
Having all eyes on me at all times is hard to deal with, but it’s great.
It feels like you’ve already accomplished something.
It’s already predetermined that you’re going to do well.
~ Shaun White
Have a lovely day ahead, always!
Till then,
Cheers & TTFN~ 😀
The True Way To Be Humble
One fine day, while we were watching TV, Lovable Mum expressed out her latest worry:
Lovable Mum:
ʘ‿ʘ Many people have been taking photos of my flowers recently and giving me compliments. ʘ‿ʘ
Yours Truly:
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Isn’t it a good thing? People are appreciating your creations. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Lovable Mum:
ಠ_ಠ I am feeling a little overwhelmed and worried. ಠ_ಠ
Yours Truly:
¯\_(⊙︿⊙)_/¯ Worry? About what? ¯\_(⊙︿⊙)_/¯
Lovable Mum:
¿ⓧ_ⓧﮌ Getting too much compliments isn’t something great, It might somehow affect me negatively. ¿ⓧ_ⓧﮌ
Yours Truly:
( ゚Д゚) Ahhh….quite true.( ゚Д゚)
Lovable Mum:
¯\_(⊙︿⊙)_/¯ What should I do then?¯\_(⊙︿⊙)_/¯
Yours Truly:
Just remain humble and move on.
I totally understand her concern but just like what Shania Twain once said:
“If my clothing does stand out, then I guess it’s a compliment, but I just wear whatever feels comfortable.”
Ever since Lovable Mum started out with her flower arrangement hobby, it added something into her life — a mission and a goal — and she is currently one of the fixed personnels in taking care of the flower arrangements in all our three H.Q.s
As her daughter and her NO.1-FAN, I feel happy to know that more people are acknowledging her skills and creativity; and perhaps this is a great opportunity for her to further polish/cultivate her humbleness at this stage of her life.
The true way to be humble is not to stoop until you are smaller than yourself,
But to stand at your real height against some higher nature that will show you
What the real smallness of your greatness is.
~ Phillips Brooks
Just last Friday while we were at one of our H.Q.s, a friend asked me to take some photos of Lovable Mum’s latest arrangements which she made during the day before and e-mail them to her.
Hmmm….now, that’s a little creepy…but I guess these are just some carrots and sticks that life throws us at time.¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Since I’ve those photos in my phone, might as well share with you lovely souls:
Have a lovely Friday and a wonderful weekend ahead, always!
Till then,
Cheers & TTFN~ 😀
Withering Beauties
When Lovable Mum started learning flower arrangement during many many years ago, our lives are being constantly surrounded by flowers.
Refreshing and lovely when they were first brought back, like all new born babies.
Beautiful and elegant when they were displayed in vases, like all energetic young souls.
Just like all things in life coming to an end, their withering process begins…
In this installment of Lovable Mum’s Flowers, I’ve deliberately taken the flowers at their initial and withering stages for they always reminded me to live my life to the fullest, no matter how long or short it would be.
Life is a constant withering of possibilities
Some are stolen with the lives of people you love
Others are let go, with regret and reluctance and deep, deep sorrow
But there is compensation for lives un-lived in the intoxicating joy of knowing that the life you have
Right here, right now
If the one you have chosen
There is power in that, and hope
~ Emily Maguire, Taming the Beast
How many withering flowers have you spotted?
If you cannot spot them, perhaps it also prove that their existence is beautiful despite they are withering. 😀
Have a lovely Monday!
Til then,
Cheers & TTFN~ 😀
Remember To Bring Your Umbrella…
Once there was a man who lived with his mother all his life.
Everyday, no matter rain or shine, his mother would always remind him the same thing before he leaves for work,
“Remember to bring your umbrella.”
“I know, mother…”
The man always responded in a frustrated tone,
“You don’t have to remind me every day.”
Would his mother stop reminding?
Of course not.
The reminder continued despite getting the same responds from her only child.
Until one day, his mother was gone… forever.
A few days after the funeral, the man was ready to get back to his routine life.
Just before he stepped out of the house, he was feeling something amiss…
“Remember to bring your umbrella.”
Tears soon accumulated around his two swelling eyes as he finally realized those five words would never be heard again.
I’ve heard this story many years ago and because of this story, Lovable Mum’s constant nagging and reminders soon became a luxury in my life.
Just two weeks ago, she lost her voice for 4 days and the house seemed almost too…quiet…LOL…
The natural state of motherhood is unselfishness. When you become a mother, you are no longer the center of your own universe. You relinquish that position to your children. ~ Jessica Lange
When my father left the family, Lovable Mum was forced to re-join the workforce after being a full-time housewife for 14 years and only stopped working after I’ve started my first job.
Was life tough during those days?
Yes and no.
Of course, those tough days sometimes made me want to get back to the periods when my father was still around, playing his role as a lovingly husband to Lovable Mum and a good father to us.
However, it was also those same tough days that have strengthened the bond between the four of us during all these years — as a family, a home sweet home, even without the presence of a man in the family (since Bro was still a boy during those days , so I won’t consider him as a man…LOL)
To us, family means putting your arms around each other and being there.
~ Barbara Bush
So, this post is a tribute to the woman in my life (even though she once have this thinking to make me eat oat meal for every meal, everyday….LOL…) who has given my siblings and I a wonderful home sweet home:
The above pictures were taken during her birthday during last year and since this happens to be my favourite picture collage, so wanting to share with you lovely souls. I am so happy to get the same blueberry cheesecake for my birthday this year. 😀
Ahh…this post wouldn’t be complete without another installment of Lovable Mum’s flowers, right? Hehehe….
The above arrangement is a revised version, using the same flowers from the ones in “Flowers Are Restful To Look At”.
My mother had a great deal of trouble with me, but I think she enjoyed it.
~ Mark Twain
I guess, besides Mark Twain, it applies to my Lovable Mum and to the mothers of all the lovely souls out there.
So….Despite all the troubles we’ve given to our mummy dearest…
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL LOVABLE MOMS OUT THERE!!
Till then,
Cheers & TTFN~ 😀
Flowers Are Restful To Look At…
Today, Lovable Mum brought back some left-over flowers and I decided to share with you lovely souls because the colour contrast of today’s arrangement has brought a smile on my face:
Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful;
they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul.
~ Luther Burbank
As I was going through the gallery of my mobile phone, I’ve found a few more photos of her arrangements that I’ve taken at one of our HQs during a few weeks ago:
Flowers are restful to look at.
They have neither emotions nor conflicts.
~ Sigmund Freud
A F.A.Q by Lovable Mum’s Friend(s):
Oh! You must be good at flower arrangement as well since you’ve a mother who’s good at it.
Yours Truly:
Nah! I am only good at looking…
That’s my STANDARD answer whenever I get that F.A.Q whereas Baby Sis would just smile. Since Bro is a guy, all I can say is…he is lucky.
Will I start learning flower arrangement so that I can conveniently fulfill their assumption?
” Nah…I still prefer looking…LOL…”
Perhaps from time to time, if I happened to come across some arrangements that would pin a smile on my face, I will share them with you lovely souls.
However, if you would love to see more of Lovable Mum’s arrangements in the future, do let us know, okay?
Have a great Thursday ahead!
Cheers & TTFN~
