The second voting shelter challenge of Year 2014 has ended, unfortunately Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center did not manage to get any grant for the first two challenges.
No worries, we can always try our best for the next challenge.

The Winter Shelter Challenge ended on 27th December 2013 and we are glad to know that Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center has won a $1,000 Grant for this challenge.

Since the last post was all about Kerby and just a few days ago, we’ve came across a post from another lovely soul, Paulette @ The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap about helping out this animal shelter which happens to be the first and only ‘NO-KILL’ shelter in Ventura County, CA.
We would like to take this opportunity to make a request to all lovely souls out there to help casting a vote for this animal shelter to win a grant so that they are able to find a new home for those animals in need.

It is really very easy to do, no registration or logging is needed.
- Go to the website http://www.shelterchallenge.com/
- Click the “Shelter Search” tab
- Key in the words “santa paula animal rescue center”
- Press the ‘Vote’ button when the result is the search is returned
As I was making a comment on a post with regards to the topic friends and wanted to share a song with her concerning friendship, I love the above song.

Bless you for helping get attention for the first and only no-kill animal shelter in Ventura County, CA. It’s a very large county, almost a million people and this shelter is doing an amazing job with rescuing and adopting out cats, dogs, and other animals that cross it’s doors. I think this is a wonderful project. I am so sorry I won’t be able to contribute. I do have a few charities already chosen. I do give to a local animal shelter, dog and cat food. I try to find them on sale. I also love my grandkids and any spare change goes to their little treats or school supplies, too. Thanks for your lovely comments on my posts! Take care, Robin
Please forgive me for butting in here but I just wanted to let you know that the request above is not asking for anything other than a vote for the shelter mentioned. Nothing else is asked for. If you have charities also entered, of course you’d vote for them, understandably. But, if not and it moves your heart to vote for the Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center, it’s the first and only no kill shelter in a very large So.California county and the grant there could mean a lot for a lot of furry friends.

I’m been a little overwhelmed with a chest cold and recent death of a friend’s son and would have completely overlooked this had it not been for you. I have my outdoor cats in to protect them from the freezing temperatures. I can’t imagine how they could survive outdoors even though they have a place to cuddle and stay warm. But the temperatures have dipped so unnatural, they must stay in. Love it. Just wish my son wasn’t allergic. But he doesn’t come that often. Thanks for all the work you are doing. You are making a difference. Hugs!!
It is always hurting to see those furry cuties shivering with cold.
Just a few months ago, Mr. Kerby (my foster pup) was shivering with cold after his grooming session and it took us almost a day to get him sleep on something warm rather than the cold cold floor…and now, it always brings me a smile whenever he is sleeping on that blanket..hehe…
What I’ve done is really nothing when compared to what Paulette is doing…do drop by her lovely blog and see what differences she has been making for all the furry cuties out there.
